Happy New Year! (almost)
I'll be spending the evening at my parents house with my brothers. :)
What is everyone doing? Do you go out? Do you let the kids stay up? Do you bang pots and pans together outside at midnight? :P
I'll see you all next year!
*smooches*
eta~ to answer a question from the last post; I found my panties while pumping gas and yes, there was someone at the pump next to me, lol! I don't know if he noticed anything. My kids got a giant kick out of it though.

Holiday Update
Once there, my grandmother spoiled us by cooking every meal and being a great hostess. She was just so happy to have family come down to her, instead of her having to come up here. We walked around El Paseo and looked in all the shops. It was very much like I assume Rodeo Drive would be like...ridiculously fancy cars I can't even pronounce, tan, enhanced rich ladies everywhere...completely plastic! We went into Saks Fifth Avenue but didn't buy anything. The clothes were ugly, IMO.
I also took the kids on a hike (don't let the picture fool you...we were higher than it looks). That was maybe the highlight for me...taking them on the hike. There was a canal we crossed over to get to the trail and I told the kids when we got back, I was going to go down into it. They both balked at me and DD even refused to watch me because they were so sure it was too steep and I would be stuck down there (it was completely dry, btw). I got a good laugh when I showed them how easy it was. We ended up playing down there a good portion of the time, too. *snort* It was steep enough that you could crouch down and your tennies would slide down the wall. Coming up was trickier, but with a running start, it was doable. Desert life was slow and I was amazed at all the free time we had. It was relaxing though.
Highlights from the trip were:
- Seeing the giant dinosaurs on the way home (pictured).
- Almost hitting a real roadrunner!
- Losing my bright green undies, mortified granny would find them later, only to discover on the way home that they were in my pocket! LOL! *slaps forehead*
- Winds so strong that I gasped as I got out of the car and swallowed my gum! Seriously, involuntarily swallowing something just feels so wrong.
- Watching 'It's a Wonderful Life', with the kids, until they fell asleep. I'll have to rent it so they can catch the end.
- Getting in the hot tub with the kids, in undies and a t-shirt, late on Christmas Eve.
- Seeing a nasty, huge desert beetle while hiking (pictured).

Clothing question
I was thinking about all this because for old times sake, I got into my old clothes yesterday and tried stuff on, My wedding dress fits, though not exactly the same, lol! I have a suede skirt that I will likely never fit into again, but it's my goal. I don't think they are even in style any more! I last wore it when I was 16. I can't imagine wearing it again, so why do I keep it?
So does anyone here keep clothing for sentimental reasons? Do you have "goal" clothes?

Have a great weekend!
Last night, my neighbor came over asking for our newspaper. He's done it in the past because he likes certain coupons, so I assumed that's what he wanted. Instead, he explained to me that his mother died on Saturday, unexpectedly, after having hip surgery. She recovered from the surgery and was going to be released within a day or two, when a blood clot killed her. He is devastated. He's a big, construction type guy and it was really uncomfortable to see him there, crying. I didn't know what to do. *sigh* Today, I am going to get a card and then make something to send over. Is banana bread and flowers good? I just don't know what they need. Any ideas?

When all else fails...
I forgot to mention it before, but I wanted to say that I was really happy with the Beauty and the Geek finale. I loved Jasmine. I thought she was so sincere and sweet. I couldn't stand Sam or Nicole.

Funny Mail!
I finally got mine mailed yesterday. *whew* I can't believe how hard it was. And then I had a postage issue (only because I'm an idiot). So I apologize to my receiver.
In happier news, my shoes came today! *happy high heeled dance* I realize that the black ones look great with jeans (almost like boots since you can't see any skin) and the red ones are just adorable. The red ones are a tad too big, but I'm hoping maybe it's because the weather is so cold and maybe my feet are smaller right now.
Anyways, hope you all have happy Fridays and good weekends!
Here are a few offensive jokes that were forwarded to me...

*pulls hair out and screams*
Anyways, I do love the seller I bought my shoes from, her correspondence with me has been stellar and I got the refund for the additional shipping I paid for already, so I will leave positive feedback despite knowing that they probably do the same thing (withholding theirs). Ok, enough about ebay.
How about more lipstick? *grin* I just got some Clinique lipstick and I have to say, this might be my all time favorite lipstick. It's sheer, so I can make it as dark or light as I want. I LOVE the color and I bet it's suitable for all skin tones, too. It's called Black Honey. I'll add a picture.
In other lip news, my Bath & Body vanilla sugar lip balm is becoming extinct. There are only a couple batches left on ebay and they are selling ridiculously high. I'm already in a panic...what will I use when I run out? I like the Blistex Silk & Shine for nighttime use, but not for carrying around in my pocket all day, and I don't love the flavor (sorry Nookie!).
I cannot wait for x-mas to be over so Valentines can get here. I want my dark chocolate espresso kisses and I also want to send my Valentine some *lvoe*. ;-)

New shoes!
The red pair...I do like a lot. But still, nothing is easy for a spaz like myself who buys before she thinks, lol! I bid on those ones with over two hours left on the auction and *then* noticed I bid on the wrong size shoes! *smacks forehead* Doh! I did write the seller and she agreed to combine shipping (a completely lucky coincidence that it was the same person) and she will give me the right size. :) So all in all, I'm pretty happy and anxious to get them.
My unfunny mail is going out today, btw. It's not really clever, but it's the best I could do. ***But I got mine already! *big grin* It WAS clever!***
Oh, and another thing; today we were going to my mom's house to see a friend who was visiting from Arizona and I decided to walk there with my son. We'd never done that before. Not sure if I'll ever do it again. Man, I thought I was ok enough to walk but this kicked my ass! It was prolly only 3 miles (based on how long it took us, and I won't tell you how long, lol) but my son wanted to go faster than I did... I was exhausted by the time we go there. Tell me, how far/long can you walk without feeling like your legs are rubber?
Also, do you love or hate my new shoes? I won't mind either way, really. I'm excited about the extra height they will give me, and also about being able to get some black tights to go with the black shoes. Would you wear them? Red is a new shoe color for me, so we'll see how that goes, lol.
Other than this, my weekend was pretty busy. I took the kids to a local museum during the day on Saturday, and that night we had the annual spaghetti feed we go to to support a family we know. The kids a blast, so that was good. Oh, and on Saturday (between the other stuff) my brother made me watch Hot Rod with him. It was similar to Napoleon Dynamite in my opinion. He loved it, and I'm still on the fence. Anyone seen it?

Trying again...
I went shopping with a friend recently to Sephora in the mall. Remember last year when I went all crazy and bought tons of stuff? Well this year, I had some self control. Here's what I bought;

I love the key chain with the attachable lip glosses. It even has some little lips like the one on my blog, lol! The glosses are really nice too. As for the Pink Sugar set I bought, well, as much as I adore the scent, I must admit, it wasn't a great buy. I gave the shower gel to my ex-SIL because she hooked me up with a bunch of Clinique stuff recently, the lotion is ok except it's runny and and when it's on my hands, everything I touch (like food) ends up tasting like perfume. Ick! The lip gloss is just ok too, and I noticed it also has an icky flavor. But I did like the big bottle of perfume itself. It's a wonderful scent. If you ever see it somewhere, try it. I heard it's becoming extremely popular though, and that bums me because I like to be different, lol!
Anyhow, I went out with a friend Tuesday night and we met halfway between our towns, in a town that neither of us are familiar with. It was ok since she scoped it out before we got there and told me where to go. The problem was, when it was time to leave, I couldn't find the freeway. I ended up in the middle of nowhere, in the pitch black with what appeared to be orchards all over the place. I wasn't sure how long to go in that direction before giving up, so all in all, I was lost for almost a half hour. Gas is too freakin' expensive for mistakes like this!
I did buy the cutest lip gloss at Target while we were there, though. I'll add the picture. I am one of those suckers who falls for the packaging. Here it is;

Is that not too cute?? Sexy Motherpucker! It says it is one of those lip plumping kinds, but in my opinion, all that means is it hurts like a mofo right when you put it on. My friend and I were in the car and tried it on. We sat there waiting....waiting...and then BAM! All of a sudden our lips were stinging and they actually felt like they were vibrating. My blonde friend actually pulled the visor down to look in the mirror to see if her lips were actually moving, lmao! That totally gave me the giggles.
In other news, I'm starting a computer class at the local college in January. I'm excited about that since it's going to get me comfortable enough to take some other classes too. I still have no idea what else I'll take, but I do think it's always good to further your education. Like they say, Youth is wasted on the Young. If only I'd taken advantage of more opportunities in high School. *sigh* Better late than never.
P.S. Spell check wants me to spell it "blond", and not "blonde". Interesting. :)

still busy...
I hope everyone had a great holiday break! I've missed everyone being around the blogs. :)
As for me, I think I've lost my bloggy. I am wanting to update, and even can think of various things to say, but when it comes time to type, nothing seems to sound right, or be interesting enough. I have a busy week planned too, which makes it even harder because if I know I won't be on a lot, it's hard to post something and then just walk away, kwim?
Anyways, I did want to say that as bad as the Niners have been sucking ass, I thoroughly enjoyed today's game. It was almost like watching the Bachelor finale, with the surprise ending, lol!
For now, this is all I got. :) Hope to see more of you blogging and hope to be back more myself, very soon. *smooches*
P.S. I have not mailed my Funny Mail yet. I will ASAP. And frankly, to be honest, I'm having a hard time making it "funny". Can we just say "fun mail" instead? *sigh*

Enchanted/ Cars/ Football
So, last Thursday I took the kids and my mother to see a sneak preview of Enchanted. It was funny because when my brother gave me the tickets (for 4) I immediately assumed DD would invite a friend of hers. I wasn't even sure if my son would want to go, so I even thought about another mother/daughter going with us. Anyways, I was really glad that it occurred to me to invite my mother. It struck me as sad that she wasn't one of the first people I thought of. She was thrilled with the invitation and we all loved the movie. Yes, It's cheesy, but unique and funny. I'd see it again.
About cars; my father has been jealous of my car since I got it. The funny thing is that my dad never buys "normal" cars. He always has to have foreign cars, BMW, Mercedes, etc. So for him to like my Toyota was funny to me. Anyhow, he eventually bought one, but an older model. I was glad because I got to rub it in his face that I had dual exhaust (which I didn't notice or care about until he mentioned being envious of it, lol). He's had the older model for about a year or so, but he just couldn't stand it anymore, and went in to buy a newer one. He got the same exact same color and model as me! Grr! BUT! The worst part is that his is called the "Touring Edition" and now he thinks his is way better. It's practically started a war. He even called me in a panic the other morning to tell me someone had stolen my spoiler. *rolls eyes* Mine never had a spoiler and he knows it. Smug bastard.
Football: I took my son to his school today because he wanted to run on the track with me, but in the end, we just played catch with his football. I have to admit, it was the most fun I've had in a while. It was simple, free and healthy. We laughed, joked around, and we counted every run we had where we didn't drop the ball as we threw it back and forth (I think the top was around 25 throws, lol). I need to do that more often than I do.
Completely Off Topic: I noticed in an ad the other day that the model was wearing open toed shoes with stockings. Is that ok now? I was always under the impression it was tacky. But I'd love it if it's acceptable! I always freeze with no pantyhose, or I end up wearing my tall boots. What I need is a good pair of high heels that aren't open toed, lol! Woohoo! Shopping mission!

Tuesday randoms
Today started perfectly. I was peeing at around 6am, with the door slightly open and the light off. No biggie, since everyone is asleep still. *snort* Then all of a sudden, the door swings open and the light pops on and before I could say anything, my son sees me, screams, falls backward and desperately grasps at the door frame to keep from falling all the way down. *LMAO* Had I not already been peeing, that would have done it. :) I love it when people get scared, and more so when I'm not feeling guilty for doing it on purpose.

I finally watched TAR last night. I am not sure who my faves are yet, do you guys have any? It seems too early to tell because there were a few times where I thought I might not like someone as much as I thought I would, or vice versa. I do think I'll like the "hippy couple" though. I'm horrible at remembering the names. I decided Phil might have the best job on the planet. I was drooling over all the gorgeous scenery in Ireland.

My dreams have been getting weirder and weirder lately. One of the last ones was about a raccoon that was harassing my cats. I guess I needed to "take care of it" so I went outside with a broom to kill it. I hit it a few times but just couldn't bring myself to finish it, when the next thing I knew, a hole opened up in the ground. When I looked down into it, it was a Disney Underworld of some sort. All the villains were there, waiting for me to push the raccoon in. I did. :( I had another dream recently that had me stuck in a long tube that was inside a sinking ship. I could see the water level rising up to me, and I was stuck. I want some good dreams! These ones suck! *sob*
I'm also severely PMSing, so maybe that's where some of this is coming from.
I guess I'm out of randoms. I've been awful at making the rounds lately, as things at home have been needing attention...I guess we all know what that's like.

I walk like a girl
Wednesday, November 07, 2007
Oops
Back story: When I went to that party last Saturday night, a girl showed up and announced that her best friend and another mutual friend were dating. I already knew about this, and had known for weeks, but it was definitely something they did not want "out". The guy's divorce is not final and well, I guess that's why. Anyways, other than some mild discussion, nothing major was said.
Tonight, I get this text: "Wow. Just found out I was the focus of a shit talking frenzy during the party. I must be the only one with a skeleton in the closet."
I assume he is telling me that he is angry at *me* because *I* was there. I also assumed his "skeleton" reference was directed at me as a threat to reveal stuff he might know from my past. I fire back with a text saying, "was there a question in there or just an accusation?". I get no reply. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. I have been covering this guys ass on so many little things for months, and I didn't deserve this! So I text again saying, "It's always nice when a "friend" gets second hand info and doesn't bother verifying it". Still no reply. Now I'm pissed! I go to my email and fire off another reply with some not so nice things. I told him he was so off the mark about this that I was embarrassed for him, I said that I was shocked he wouldn't give me an opportunity to reply. I called it all bullshit and then I very maturely ended it with "whatever." *snort* Oh, then I sent him a final text letting him know I emailed him.
Then I call my brother and it turns out he got the same text message (from Clint). As I'm filling DB in, I get a reply from Clint saying I misunderstood his text, he couldn't talk right then and would talk to me later. Hmm. Did I really just make that big of an ass of myself? I was so mad at him because when you don't talk to someone for over a month, and then send them a text like that, and then ignore the immediate responses, what are you supposed to think!? I figured he was taking someone's word over mine, and I was mad. *sigh* I sent him one more email explaining why I took everything the way I did and said if I was wrong, then I clearly jumped to conclusions and overreacted. But now I just feel stupid. There was so much anger and venom in my first email. If he wasn't really attacking me, am I a giant idiot? What would you have done?

Updating for the sake of updating
Oh well, here goes... I went to a party on Saturday evening. I was asked to bring a dessert so I bought some 1/2 off Halloween candy and made caramel popcorn balls. The balls were a hit! And not only were they all eaten, but it was kinda fun offering balls to people all night. I'm sure you can just imagine how many ridiculous, immature and crude jokes were made that night, lol!
A bunch of people ditched the party for a "real" party and I felt bad for the hostess. I stayed until pretty late and eventually peeled my sleepy kids off the couch and took them home. What was funny is that those who left for the other party left all their kids at this one for us to babysit. It annoyed me that there were so many toddlers toddling around at midnight. My kids were old enough to enjoy themselves and were thrilled to be able to stay up late, but the babies were crying for their moms. Grrr! I didn't like that at all.
In other news, my parents just got a Plasma TV. They previously had a 60" that took up half the room. Now, the Plasma is 50" and hangs above the fireplace. The picture is beautiful. I watched last week's Office there tonight. Jim is dreamier in HD, lol! Are you allowed to have a fire with the TV hanging up there, though? It would make me nervous.
Umm, *trying to think of anything interesting*... Sorry guys. I got nuthin' (again).

Ack!
So tomorrow (Thursday), I am getting another massage from the same friend I got one from last week. I'm pretty excited. If she lived here, I'd probably see her bi-weekly.
Other than this, I got nothing. I've been super busy lately. I'm looking forward to Friday very much, when I can just relax at home and maybe catch up with some friends I've been missing. And yes! That includes you guys!

A request
So while you're here, tell me, how is your mood lately? Everything ok? The same as usual, better, or worse?
_______________________________________________
My brother went away for the weekend and got a new tattoo by Kat Von D. This is fine, since he is an adult and all, but there *will* unfortunately be some sort of overreaction from my parents. It won't be pretty. He got a large nautical star on his right forearm. Can't hide it under anything other than a long sleeve shirt. Might not seem like a big deal, but... *sigh*... I know my parents.
So with tattoos on my mind, here's something I was wondering...I know some of you already have one or more, but let me ask, if you were ever tempted to get one (or another one) where would you want it, and what would you get?
I think I want a small green m&m behind my ear. Or maybe some cute lips. Actually, the one thing I've been most tempted to get is a small Fleur De Lis, in the same spot (behind the ear). :) I doubt I'll ever actually do this, but it's something I've thought about. How 'bout you?

Thursday night in the MM house
Then last night I had weird dreams. Nothing highly unusual about that, but I remember so much of them I thought I'd share some. First, it was all about OT. I was looking at the screen and somehow communicating with people without having to type. I could also decide who was there apparently, because only my friends were on there. :)
The other part of my dream last night was really weird! I was swimming in the nicest pool...the water was warm and nice and my cousin Kelsey was with me. Then we noticed these two teenagers making out nearby and we invited them in. Big Mistake! They just wanted to keep going at it, so we had to keep swimming around them. Fortunately though, we had a giant TV with some old New Kids on the Block videos playing. *snort* I kept hoping my dad didn't come home because I knew I'd be in trouble for letting the kids make out.
I love dreaming like that every night. I wish I could interpret them, but in the end I don't really believe in picking them apart and trying to read something into it. *shrug*
Other than that, I went to my parent's house to watch The Office last night. I'm glad that Dwight and Angela are currently not together since Jim and Pam are. I need someone to root for. Who here watches? I can't remember. I know Zombie does because we are fighting over Jim (what's new?). OMG! Just picturing Jim made remember a whole other part of my dream!! I know this guy who looks like Jim to me and I dreamt about him. :) *swoony sigh* He is younger than me and I used to babysit him, but swooning over him now isn't so bad since he's 28, right? In the dream, we were at a wedding and I needed to borrow his sister's shoes. he just smiled at me and I got all giggly. I'm so glad I remembered that.
Ever had a dream that made you smile the next day?
