Friday night peep meet!
On Friday night, I went to my very first peep meet! I never would have thought I would be so lucky to meet Carey, Knockers*, Michelle, Glow and Jen all at one time, and there was no way I was going to pass up the chance. (*Carey's knockers deserved their own name because they were prominently displayed, and yes, they're real and spectacular!) I have to admit, I was so nervous! Driving into the city was very stressful for me. I had never done anything like that before, and of all places to learn, San Francisco was a daunting start. When I got there, (fashionably late, thanks to the damn San Francisco freeways) they were already at the restaurant. I went inside and was greeted by Carey, Knockers, and Jen. We hugged, and then came Michelle and Glow, who I also hugged hello. We went to the table and chatted and laughed and got to know each other better.
After dinner, we walked down the street looking for a place for a few more drinks, and along the way, there was a little sex shop. Carey got all excited and was yelling at us to go inside. I said, "no way", and very demurely stayed outside while the rest of them went inside and played with all the toys. I finally had to go inside (just right inside the door) and help the store clerk escort them out. It was very embarrassing. We ended up at a Brewery that had very loud music playing inside. We talked about all the bloggers, but Carey made me promise not to repeat what she said about you. Sorry! Knockers was in great spirits though, and after a few beers, was incredibly bold and practically bouncing off the walls. After that, it was getting very late and they had to get going, even though I begged them to continue the riveting bible discussion we had going. Sheesh! (hopefully, they didn't just ditch me and go bar hopping after I left!)
In all seriousness, I have several things to note. First, Carey is one of the easiest people to be around. She made me feel very comfortable, like we'd always known each other. Even though *I* was feeling nervous, she made it all seem so easy. Glow was exactly what I expected. It's so weird to think back to my first days on OT, and how I looked at Glow with such awe (only "weird" because I never would have dreamt that we would actually meet). I admired her back then, and meeting her only confirmed why. She is so freakin' cool. She has the kinda coolness that makes you want to just hang out all night and chat. Plus, she has a very nice ass! ;-) Then there was Jen. My Valentine. *sigh* Jen and I should live in the same city. I want to hang out with her and have sleep-overs and stuff. She is really funny and sarcastic and perfect. Not at all a nasty bitch. *grin* Jen and I made out a little bit, BTW. *big grin* And finally, Michelle. Michelle is the one I knew the least, obviously. Since I knew very little about her, I had no idea what to expect. Let me say, that Michelle was an absolute doll. She had the cutest voice and smile, ever. Carey is one lucky lady!
If we had had more time, I would have loved the opportunity to make out with the others, and I would have liked to grab Carey's ass. A few more hours and drinks later and we would have been getting to know each other even better! *ifyouknowwhatImean* ;-)

Final Pics
This picture was taken in Ketchican, Alaska. Everything there was so green and mossy.
This picture shows a little boy, playing in the water. I was kinda chilly, wearing a sweatshirt!
Last stop on the cruise; Victoria, B.C. The ship is behind us.
My incredibly dorky brother, doing a ridiculous pose for me (and everyone else standing nearby). *rolls eyes*
In the garden, this is where you would have tea. We didn't go inside, as we barely had just enough time to see the gardens themselves.
I have to say, Butchart Gardens was just gorgeous. I was not really excited to go there, because I had no idea what to expect, but it was worth every penny, and every second. My brother actually took pictures of all the flowers. There were just so many, I didn't even bother.
I know I've left out tons of details that I had originally intended on sharing, but it took me long enough to just get blogger to post the pictures. If I remember anything very important, I'll share it later. :)

Alaska, Part Three
Grr! Why is it that it looks one way when I 'preview' it, but completely different when I post it?
Ok, this picture actually goes with the pics from the last Alaska post. It is to show you how large everything really is. If you enlarge it, you will see a man walking away from the waterfall, to the right.
Another picture to show scale. Behind the fishing boat is a dinghy. It is about the same size as the "small" pieces of ice floating in the ocean.
Here is a close-up of Margerie Glacier. Because it was so clear outside (as opposed to overcast) the glacier appeared more white, than blue, but in the center of this picture there is some of that pretty aqua blue color.
I just thought this was cute. Also, you can see how much of the ice is still underwater.
The next two are pictures taken as we were leaving Glacier Bay. We spent the entire day outside, on the deck. It was too beautiful to miss even a second of it. We didn't even bother to eat while we were cruising through.
Alright, I just couldn't pass this one up. I thought it was so cute that this guy was sitting in the jacuzzi with speedos and a jacket on. This cruise was predominately senior citizens. I loved seeing all the little old people. The cute hats, velcro shoes, polyester pants, etc. Things like the buffet line went reeaaallllyy slowly, but overall, I liked being on the ship with older people. It was a calmer, quieter atmosphere.
Next I will post the final pictures of Ketchican and Victoria (B.C). Sorry it's taken so darn long to get these out here, but blogger has been a bitch about it.

Sad reminder
I was talking to my dad today and I heard an awful story about one of his clients. He has been working on a personal injury case for a family whose little girl had gotten hurt at school, resulting in a broken leg, so badly broken that some of her leg died. Her other leg then had to be operated on, to keep it from growing, so that it matches her injured leg. She will never grow up to be a "normal bodied" adult, now. She is a beautiful 11 year old girl, who he said, is very outgoing, friendly and smart. On Saturday, her and her mother (my dad's client) were in a car accident. The little girl broke both her arms. The mother was killed. She (the mother) was not wearing a seatbelt. My heart just breaks for this little girl. Anyways, I thought it was a good time to remind everyone to always wear their seatbelts, and please, buckle your children, too.

Alaska, Part Two
The next stop for us was Juneau. In Juneau, we were driven to the Mendenhall Glacier, where we decided to hike to a waterfall and get as close as we could to the glacier. In the third pic, it looks like the waterfall is small and it doesn't look too far away, but really, it was quite the hike, and everything is much larger than it

Alaska ~ Part One
Long post ahead! Feel free to skip everything and just look at the pics. :)
My trip started on June 5th (a Monday) and it actually started out pretty bad. I was sleep deprived, since on Sunday night I never made it to bed, having severely underestimated how much work I had to do to be ready to go. We got on the ship around 1pm and went straight to the room, where I wanted nothing more than to sleep for a while. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the room was the smell. It smelled like a 90 year old smoked in it for 50 years, and then died. As a non-smoker, I was not pleased. I have often stayed in hotel rooms that have the faint smell of cigarette smoke, and that honestly doesn't bother me, but this was horrendous. We immediately informed the cabin stewardess and asked her what could be done. She said she would try to clean it. Nothing was done that first night, and because of exhaustion and frustration, I cried myself to sleep. The next day, she replaced all of the bedding and even scrubbed the ceiling of the cabin. They also had the carpets shampooed. The smell was almost gone by then, and I was finally feeling more like myself.
Because of having so much to do to prepare for the trip, I never once inquired about the itinerary. The first night on the ship, I found out we would be at sea until Thursday! I had a mild panic attack, feeling claustrophobic. The next couple days were spent wandering the ship, reading and generally being lazy. What else could we do?
The first stop was Sitka, Alaska. Here are some pics from there:

Bon Voyage (again)
Well, I was going to post my itinerary, but I haven't even seen it myself, so I can't tell you all where I'll be exactly, or when. I can tell you that I am leaving first thing tomorrow (Monday the 5th), and driving to San Francisco *waves to Carey and the other SF peeps*, where the ship is docked. From there, at some point we go to Victoria, B.C. (where we also went on the last cruise) and then to Alaska from there. I don't think Anchorage is on our list, but I think Juneau might be. *shrug* I just know it's Alaska, it will be cold and I will see icebergs. Speaking of icebergs, I am terrified that one is going to kill us. Hello? Global warming! I think that it is possible that one will be slowly melting, and as we are cruising past, it will shift, and then start to turn over. It will either hit the ship directly or just cause a major tsunami. *sigh* I was so excited we weren't flying this time, but see? I still I have to worry.
We will be back on the 15th. If you hear of any major disasters in that area, you'll know what happened to me. :(
Anyways, I am still packing right now (just taking a short break) and I still have so many other things to take care of before we leave. So many, I can't even begin to dwell on it, or I'll have a panic attack.
I will have some pics to share when I get back. For now, here's one I took of the gift I put together for the wedding I went to yesterday. It turned out nicely, but I forgot to take a pic after putting the tulle and ribbon around it. Anyways, we went with an alcohol and chocolate theme. You probably can't see everything in the basket, but there are shot glasses, many small bottles of alcohol, and champagne, etc. I really wanted to keep it by the time I was done with it. The wedding was so nice and elegant, yet simple. I loved being there, but I gotta say, coming home was even better, after being out all evening.
I'll try to check in here if I can while I'm gone, but will have very limited time. I hope you all have fun and miss me tons!

Ack!
I have 3 days to be ready to go on the cruise. I have to have clothes for ten days (and ten nights for dressier dinners). So far, I have ...um...*looks in closet*...nothing. :( Ok, not true. I have a couple of skirts, a pair of black slacks and a black blazer. I have lots of jeans, and casual shirts. I also have lots of shoes. I am hoping tennis shoes are appropriate for walking in Alaska. Am I going to need Eskimo gear of some sort?
Also, (not that I have enough stress already or anything) I have a wedding to go to Saturday night, and a baby shower Sunday morning. Also, my mom needs me to clean her house before we leave since my grandma will be staying there with my kids while we're gone. I need to clean my house, pack for the kids and myself, do some shopping to purchase the clothing that needs to be packed, finish the party favors and put together a wedding gift (naturally I chose to do a hand-made gift basket with wine and stuff, which will require extra time). Gah!
I'll be very busy these next couple days, but I'll check into your blogs as I can. Hope all is well with everyone! Thank you all so much for the kind and encouraging words on my last post!
