rambling...

I have nothing in particular to say so I'm not sure why I am compelled to update but here goes;

One, Seana, you are one of the least whiny people I know. I miss being able to comment on your blog. That is all. :)

Two, I have some serious issues with OT right now but don't know how to express them. I *will* say (possibly to the disdain of some of my bloggy friends) that the women's worth thread is irritating the hell out of me. I'm certainly not going to argue that sexism does not exist and that some have been personally effected by it, but I will say that in that thread, some women are really looking for an argument. When someone comes in and says they haven't seen it (sexism), or that their spouse is paid equally, they are prodded to explain themselves as if they are somehow in disagreement with it. I guess that I either live in a bubble, or that some women are *looking* for the inequality. I think this spans across issues besides this one, as well. I can't say I have ever felt unfairly treated nor do I know anyone who has. *shrug* YMMV

Three, I am sick and tired of the hateful posts made on OT. I don't know if I am biased for some reason or what, but I feel that some of the more "open-minded liberals" are far more bigoted towards conservatives than the other way around. I can't tell you how often I agree with what a liberal leaning peep is saying, but am so turned off by their holier than thou tone, I end up walking away seething. /rant

Guess I did have something to say after all. I'm in a mood, so I apologize for unloading like this here, but where better to do it than your own blog?

See Seana? You? Are not whiny at all. :)

More pics??

Sorry, I couldn't help it. My aunt sent these to us tonight. We took them last weekend at the river. They look blurry to me, but apparently she is going to fix them before printing them. I might be tempted to share a couple more when we get them (these are just a preview). Thanks for indulging me, guys.

My nephew Ryan. He was the most cooperative for the pics, lol.

My DD. :)

My DS. :)

All the cousins.

*forces self to update*

I've been meaning to update since getting back, and even started a post, but just didn't seem to want to hit that stupid post button. Anyways, as boring as it is, here's the update.

Here's a few of the things that we did over the weekend or things I thought were noteworthy:

The hike - I took (dragged) my kids up the mountain with me on Friday in the middle of the day. The temp was 99 degrees. It was miserably hot, but I was determined. We made it up one mountainside, down another and halfway up the next when my kids decided we heard a noise. Ok, I heard it too, but still. We were SO close to the lighthouse and I did *not* want to go back. They flat out refused to go any further and I reluctantly headed back down. I was nervous too, as the noise I heard sounded like a bull snort (not that I know exactly what that sounds like) and I certainly didn't want to run into any animals out there, but at the same time, this was a hike I did regularly as a kid and we never had any trouble. Next time, we'll take a few more people and go earlier in the day when it's not so hot.

Carnival rides - I did the Gravitron, the Kamikaze and the Orbiter. Not sure if you know what any of these are but suffice it to say, they make you feel queasy and dizzy. My kids would only do the orbiter with me so I was with my cousin Kelsey for the others. I felt young and silly and had a good time. Until I got OFF the ride and felt old and foolish and sick, lol.

Sleeping outside - My aunt and uncle have a balcony/deck built off their second floor master bedroom. They recently replaced their mattresses, so they have real mattresses out there this summer (as opposed to air mattresses). It was so nice to sleep comfortably outside, under the stars. It wasn't even cold (which was a first for me) when I woke up in the middle of the night.

The coffee - I don't make coffee at home, but I *love* having it every morning at my aunt's house. She drinks it all day (she pretty has to to keep her energy up; I've never seen anyone work as hard as her. Seriously.) and she had cinnamon bun creamer. Oh. my. god, was it good! It makes me want to start brewing coffee at home every morning, but I'm the only one who would drink it, so I probably won't bother.

The Fox - ::controversy alert:: So, I woke up one morning from my uncle calling my name. I stand up and look over the railing of the balcony and see my son holding a dead fox and a gun. Apparently, my uncle had set traps the night before and took DS with him to check them. There was a fox in one and it needed to be shot. My son did it with a pistol. *sigh* My aunt took pics of him with the fox. Not sure how I feel about this. I grew up with this sort of thing from my grandfather because he had a farm and he set traps to keep coyotes and whatever else from getting his animals. My uncle does it for the same reason. Not sure if it's even legal, now that I think about it. Your thoughts? Is it barbaric? Wrong?

Anyways, that is a partial update on my weekend.

Since then, I've been working and today I was off but let the kids have a swim party since school starts on Monday. Friday will be school shopping. I cannot wait for a day off where I can actually be home, kwim?

*knock knock*

Is everyone gone for the week? I think we've lost a couple of our girls to Bahston, and I am also leaving today for the weekend. Perhaps while I'm gone, you can answer me this;

Is it wrong or right to look at your spouse's text messages without asking permission?
Perhaps there is no "right" or "wrong" but I'd like to know your opinions, anyways.

Anyways, that's it for me. I'm packing, looking for my camera (what the hell will I do if I can't find it!??!) and figuring out HTF I'm going to eat healthy this weekend while I'm surrounded by carnival/fair food and family reunion-ish type foods. *sigh* Wish me luck!

And for those of you who are peep meeting, pics please!!!

What's almost as bad as turning 30?

Your children becoming teenagers. *sob*

Happy 13th M & J!
I remember the day fondly, as I had some wonderful drugs in my system. :P

(I'm actually ok with this. Now that they tower over me, people are telling me I don't look old enough to have kids this big/old, and that's kinda nice, lol)

Added this pic from yesterday. Before they were teenagers. Back when they were still my babies, lol.

*yawn*

Yay, it's my weekend! I am planning on laying out in the sun today and talking on the phone, and doing *something* with the kids, though I don't know what yet.

Thursday at work was as busy as ever but the stress level has gone down since I've become more competent with the tasks I am given. I also got to see Brad, my client crush, yesterday. *grin & swoon* The other one I like is coming in today so I won't see him. But Brad said I was awesome! *hop* And all because I gave him the paper he asked for, lol. Whatever, I think he meant it. :P

That thread on OT was really frustrating to read. I get frustrated when I *know* something will never sink in with someone. It's one of my biggest flaws, actually. I *hate* it when people are wrong, or silly, or hypocritical, etc., and they just. won't. see. it. And not only that, but they genuinely believe it's everyone else. *boggle* I call it a flaw because I want to learn to not care as much. Moving on...

Question: If you see someone out and about in public and their zipper is down, what do you do? Would you tell them? Does it depend on their gender, or looks? Do you think it's rude? What would *you* want someone to do for you, if you were the one with the fallen zipper? Just curious. And FTR, it was not *me* with my zipper down, it was a random stranger.

And finally, with a couple days separating me from the drama of Tuesday, I am feeling much calmer and *knock on wood*, as though I over-reacted. I hope it's over and have no reason to think otherwise.

Crap! <---edited

Alright, I am editing this now because I am tired of hiding the screen when my kids walk into the room, lol. That title just seemed to stand out a lot more with that other word. Also, everything went alright at the office. Louise was called regarding picking up her file and she said that her and Clint would be coming by to get her stuff, but in the end, she did not understand what "will call" was, so they just mailed it to her instead. I'm hoping the guy was all talk and that this will all be a distant memory at some point. Thanks for your comments, guys. /update

Crap. This is a long story. Sorry. I have to get it out.

Right now, I am a mess. It all started at work today when a woman came in to see my boss. She reminded me of my ex-nightmare-SIL. She was beautiful. She reeked of money and everything on her was "just right". Fake blonde hair, fake nails, fake boobs, fake teeth, and gaudy jewelry. She was wearing jeans with stilettos and a sleeveless, tight black shirt. Anyways, I was intrigued by her because frankly, she's not the kind of girl I'm used to seeing (same as my ex-SIL).

Oh, and I'll call her Louise because that is her middle name and she is deeply ashamed of it, and only goes by "L" as a middle initial. *rolls eyes* Moving on...

My boss asked me to sit in on the appointment, which he's never done before. I was unsure as to why he needed me but I grabbed a legal pad and a pen so I at least looked like I had a purpose. As I passed my dad's office, I inquired as to why Boss might need me and he said something about it being wise to have a third party present.

The appointment begins and she starts in with her sob story. Her multi-millionaire husband has hidden all his assets and drove her to a suicide attempt. She mumbled something about sleeping pills when Boss pressed her for details. I guess the attempt is how her husband managed to get custody of the 4 kids. FOUR kids!! She looked like a 25 year old movie star. Amazing. But I digress - her story was sad and she was *clearly* the victim in all this and was just now finally starting to realize she needed an attorney.

So anyways, I was trying to pay attention to her words and not just comparing her to my evil-ex-SIL, Cheryl. At one point, she said her husband is keeping her children away from her because he is Mormon and she no longer is, and that she now has a boyfriend and the husband is *completely* against the BF and wants his children away from him. Boss asks her is there is *any* reason her husband feels this way and she assures him that no, her BF is a "great guy". He asked about a background check and she dismissed it saying only that "he was married once and his crazy ex tried to throw accusations at him but none of them stuck and he fought it all in court".

At this point, Boss asks the guys name. When she said it, I about peed myself. Her boyfriend? Is Cheryl's (my ex-SIL) ex-husband and Cheryl is the one who "falsely accused him". Umm, My parents did her divorce with her first husband and there are police reports, pictures and even an arrest that would support the fact that her wonderful boyfriend is not so wonderful. As much as I hate Cheryl, this guy (I'll call him Clint) was really actually proven to be an asshole.

So, I wait until Louise goes to her car to get something and I verify Clint's name with my father, and then I tell Boss. I assumed we'd talk more when Louise left but my boss decided we should tell her, right then and there. I was caught off guard by this but assumed he knew what he was doing. We go into the conference room and he asks me to tell her what I know about Clint. I really didn't say much so he asked me to get my father. My dad reluctantly comes in and with Boss pressing him for info, he opens up little by little, revealing what he knows about Clint. Louise then reveals that Clint is now an "Extreme Cage Fighter" and that he also has a "bad temper". She seemed disbelieving at first but also seemed to genuinely want to know the truth. Boss encouraged her to look into the public records for more information. He let her know that all of this would be coming out in court when the opposing counsel did their homework. Boss and my dad also alluded to the fact that maybe she was in a pattern with men, going from one abuser to another. She thanked us all, assured Boss that she was not upset or offended and that all she cared about was her children and getting them back (did I say that her husband has custody?).

Fast forward about 2 hours. My mom, at home, receives a call from a young man asking for my dad. He identifies himself as "Jeff", says he's an "old friend" of my dads and will call again later. My mom realized after hanging up that is was likely Clint. So my dad calls Clint from the office and Clint immediately begins screaming at my dad and threatening to hurt him. Louise told him things that were completely exaggerated and somewhat untruthful (like she said that my *dad* told *her* that he was a cage fighter, when in fact, SHE revealed that herself). Boss had left the office but felt so heart-sick about everything he came back to be there as support for my dad. Boss eventually got Louise on the phone and she was a wretched bitch to him. Boss told her (in his mean voice) that she is to return tomorrow to sign the Sub of Atty and that he would not tolerate her or represent her. What's so funny is that my boss is a sucker for a pretty woman and he had even taken her case without charging her, on the premise he could somehow get the husband to pay atty fees.

*deep breath*

So, where this has left me is in fear for my father. He's nearly 60 years old and he has this 26 year old punk threatening to "kick his ass", and laughably, also threatened to get an attorney and sue for Defamation of Character. Good luck on that buddy. We have three witnesses who can verify what was said in that room. Sometimes the truth hurts. Still, my father's phone number and address are easily available in the phone book (I checked online), and these people are on a mission (it seems).

I'm sick to my stomach. I don't work tomorrow because I have a doctor's appointment (that I can't miss) and I'm devastated to know that he'll be sitting there by the lobby without warning as to who is coming in.

What do you think? Am I overreacting? The guy (and psychotic Louise) seem to be quite riled up over this. What's so sad is if she looked for herself, she'd see it was all true. Guess her kids' safety wasn't her biggest concern after all.

In the end, the most ironic part is that she is leaving an abuser and going straight to another and Clint is leaving a Cheryl and going straight to another.

I feel sick. I don't mention him here often, but I'll make it clear to anyone that when it comes to my dad, I'm as fiercely protective of him as I am my children. I could see myself killing for him. God help anyone who tries to hurt him.

Maybe blogging my most dramatic fears will lessen the likeliness that anything will come of this? *sigh*

All I can think is FUCK! This fucker better not lay a hand on my dad. Seriously.

Movie Talk

Ick. Leaving Las Vegas is a heavy, dark movie. When it was over, I had to wonder what I had taken from it and so far, I can't think of anything.

Speaking of movies, raise your hand if you've seen or heard of Real Women Have Curves. I have a friend who not only hadn't heard of it, but accused me of watching Latina Lesbian Porn when I tried to explain what it was. For the sake of not embarrassing anyone *coughbraviecough* I won't say who it was. And I'm not bringing this up in an attempt to pay anyone back for starting false rumors about me, either.

I've been told by a few people that Mama Mia was really good. I'm going to try to take DD to that sometime this week.

What movies have you seen lately? Anything worthwhile? What about the Batman movie? I have not seen it yet because I need to see the one that comes before it, first.

More pics that I've been meaning to share...

First off, this is a pic I took while in the drive thru at Starbucks. What you *don't* see here is the sign on the chain-link fence that says this is a KinderCare (daycare). When I saw this, I was appalled. I immediately went on a verbal rampage to my daughter about what kind of parent would sign up for this and where on earth were the kids supposed to play??? How many kids could they possibly fit in here and how freakin' uncomfortable it would be..., right?? And how is it safe when it's *right* next to a drive thru?? My daughter thought I was joking. Apparently, it was obvious to everyone but me that this was the temporary construction office for the giant facility they were building (not pictured and to the left). Doh! I felt like an idiot. Now, it's good for a laugh whenever we go to Starbucks.

SHOES:

These are my purple shoes that I've been meaning to share with you. I can't seem to get a good picture that shows the color, so I guess they'll look black, but they are a beautiful deep purple color. They are too big for me but I refuse to part with them.

These are the red ones I bought while on my girls weekend. I took this pic on my desk at work (lol) so please excuse the mess. They are pretty comfortable and I *love* them muchly. :) Thanks for humoring me, guys. ;-) And Swami, the purple ones are an example of a hidden platform, while the red are not.

Now I'm in search of some better brown ones (mine have zero platform) and some cute pink ones. I found the perfect pair while shopping with Carey but they were more than I want to spend on an off-color like pink. I won't wear them all the time, only with certain outfits. It's always good to have shoes you're searching for, IMO. Something to live for. ;-)

P.S. If there is one or more people on your friends list who make your world a better place just because they exist, and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the Internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

Weekend Update

It started innocently enough with Bravie and I making plans to see each other on Saturday. I always forget what being with Carey is like until about 3 minutes after we're together again. *grin* We met halfway between us in Vacaville, where there are some outlet stores. The fun began immediately;

We decided to go into her favorite store, the Dressbarn. Apparently, Boo likes this place too, which is really just a coincidence. It's not like we specifically went here just to make Boo jealous or anything.

This is about where I started to remember what it was like with her last time.... she started goofing off and playing with the mannequins. We figured this might be the only chance to get a picture of her in a skirt, lol.

I got a little excited when I saw my picture prominently displayed on a vending machine.

Carey, on the other hand, got a LOT excited when we saw a K.B. Toys store.

Her grin says it all...

This is her doing a leprechaun impression:

(my favorite picture! have you ever seen a cuter leprechaun?)

And in this picture she was doing a Breezy/midget impression. *snort* (and FTR, Breezy and I are about the same height, lol) I must admit, the sales guy in the store *loved* Bravie and didn't want us to leave.

Last, but certainly not least, is the picture Carey begged me to take of her. She apparently has a secret obsession with high heels and likes to have her picture taken in them. She loudly expressed her opinion that only hookers wear these kinds of heels, lol.

We had a very filling dinner at Applebee's somewhere in the middle of all our shopping. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I am going to refrain from telling you about the lies she told me, the gas she may or may not have had, and the STD. She was just too nice a date for me to betray her with that kind of talk. :)

happy Monday!

Hi everyone! Gosh, I've missed you guys. Our monitor at home was broken so I've been mostly without a computer, other than at work. I avoid the blogs at work and frankly, with the boss out of town, I've been way busier than I'd anticipated. Anyways, I have a lot of catching up to do. I might not fully be able to do that until Wednesday.

_______________________________________________

This weekend was my girls weekend with my BFF. We went to our usual place and did the usual stuff. I bought some awesome close-toed, red, hidden platform heels (pics to come later). We watched some movies, drank too much and laughed a lot. It went way too quickly but was muchly needed. :)

_______________________________________________

One thing I wanted to blog about last week (and couldn't) was something I thought about after talking on the phone with my friend Cliff. I started wondering whether most men pee while sitting or standing. I think more men than I previously thought might be closet sitters. Any idea? I grew up with standers, but I'm beginning to think that there are a lot who like to sit. My friend Cliff said he sits when he's tired. I think sitting (and then consequently having to stand) takes more time and energy than just standing to begin with. I also kinda wondered where their equipment goes when they sit. Wouldn't it touch the inside of the seat? *ewww* I don't know, maybe I've given this way too much thought. Am I the only one?

Your thoughts please...

So...umm......

My shoulder massager is broken. It keeps shorting out while in use. Have you ever been in the middle of a really good shoulder massage when the massager cuts out? Not. Good. At. All. In fact, it's downright infuriating. I'd go as far as saying that it's the worst. feeling. EVER.

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll update over the weekend with how my day with Kelly went.

Work stuff and grocery stores

So, Kelly has been gone for a week now (she went to Vegas) and I must say, her absence has really made me realize how unhappy she makes me. I've had a wonderful (albeit stressful) week while I've covered. It's a hard job to do without a second person, and even harder for me as the new girl. I am proud of what I've learned this week though and one thing I realized is that when she gets back, I will no longer be turning to her for assistance. This week has shown me that when left with no other options, I *can* problem solve and figure things out. I am dreading her return on Thursday but will be happy to get back to my regular schedule of having Wednesdays off.

On another note, who here has a Nugget Supermarket? We just had one open here and I have to say, I *love* it! It was decorated so nicely and had so many more selections than our "regular" store (SaveMart, I think). Do you shop at an "upscale" grocery store or do you do the "smart" thing and shop at the cheaper places? I can definitely tell a difference in the produce, but I'm also shallow enough to admit that I just like the trendier decor of the nicer places. I did shop smart though and tried only to get the sale items. I'm not sure which stores are national chains... do you have Bel-Air, Albertson's, Safe Way, Pak-n-Save, or Winco? I'm sure we have others but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

New Phone?

I was thisclose to getting a blackberry the other night. Have you seen the red one? I love it. I was (am) having a hard time committing to getting the internet on my plan though, as it will cost me a minimum of $30 a month. In the end I think I'm going to get this phone because it has the full keyboard and I can always add internet later if I feel I must.

"Palm® Centro - Glacier White
The Palm Centro is a compact QWERTY smartphone offering a full range of features. Keep up with work and friends via email, Instant Messenger and Push-To-Talk. Enjoy the sounds of AT&T Music and XM Radio. Take pictures and video with the 1.3 MP camera."

Other than deliberating over what phone to get, I had a busy weekend. My DH's car broke down the other night and apparently needs a new engine. *sigh* It's a '99 Toyota Camry with 118k miles on it. I feel as though it should not be having this kind of problem and I am irrationally (??) blaming this on my husband. Maybe he drives it too hard or ignored some signs? I don't know. I'm just bummed and irritated and need someone to blame. *looks around at all of you* ;-)

What did you do on the 4th? Do you/can you do fireworks in your state? Do you like them? Has all this been covered in someone else's blog and I missed it?

Rebelution

Happy Monday! My weekend was good. I went to see a band play on Saturday night in what I can only describe as a teeny-bopper hang out kinda place. It was for all ages, though it did have a bar area. I had to wear a wrist band so they could easily see that I was over 21. It was completely out of my comfort zone but I did it for my brother, who bought me the tickets and really wanted me to see this particular band (called Rebelution). They had a reggae/dub sound and were actually very good.

(links are to youtube)
Here is a link to one of their songs

And another

Now, I have to admit, walking into this club was very difficult for me. I'm just not into that scene. If I'd have had an ativan on me, I'd have taken it. I was thinking, I wish I was one of those people who just don't *care* what other people think and could just walk in there and have fun. I sat in the car for a while with my friend Ashley just watching all these young people going in. All the pretty girls, all glammed up. I felt too old and frumpy to go in.

How many of you are like that? Do you ever feel self-conscious and if so, what situations bring it out of you the most? Does any particular kind of crowd intimidate you? I'm easily intimidated by lots of people, even kids. I think I was afraid that people would see me walking in and think, "what's SHE doing here...she doesn't fit....". So, is it just me or do any of you experience these same kinds of thoughts?

Drive-By Work Rant

I am trying really hard to keep a positive attitude and continue liking my job. Some days are good, others are just awful. Kelly is just not easy for me to like. She likes/needs to exert her "authority" over me on a regular basis. I'm getting a little bolder in realizing that she is *not* my boss and sometimes, I don't have to defer to her preferences. Example; when I started working, my boss never said what time I needed to take my lunch. He left it up to me. I asked Kelly about it and she said she takes hers at 1pm, so I should before then.

Usually, it's not a problem for me to be back by then. What bugs me though is that a) I'm there longer than her each day so sometimes it seems a little backwards to me since I get hungry late in the afternoon, as I'm eating so early, and b) sometimes I want to take an hour but it's really hard to leave right at noon. That's what happened on Tuesday. My brother was at the office and I wanted to eat with him and my father, so I needed to leave as close to noon as possible. Well, my boss came out and asked me to do a Proof of Service for him (which includes typing the document, copying it, and mailing it to the person being served). The phone was ringing non-stop and before I knew it, it was 12:30. I was beyond frustrated because Kelly was not answering the phone at all, even though she knew I was racing to get out the door. When I finally did leave, I all of a sudden decided to screw it, and take my effing hour anyways. I decided that for once, Kelly could wait. Russ (my boss) has never once told me I needed to be back by 1pm. So I did it; I took my hour and came waltzing in at 1:30. *grin* I acted all nonchalant and ignored any attitude she might have been giving me. It felt really good. I won't do that a lot, but it was kinda liberating. I had found out that same day that Kelly took it upon herself to tell my other boss (the wife, Jacquie) that I was intimidated by her. That really pissed me off, as it was not Kelly's place to divulge it and only made me feel more uncomfortable around Jacquie. *sigh*

The other thing I have been doing lately is *reading* the client files. OMG. Interesting stuff. I now realize that some of our clients are not very nice people at all. One guy is a playboy who is hiding assets from his wife; cut her off financially; refuses to see his kids if they stop by; and he forged his wife's signature on checks! Another woman tried to seduce her 14 yer old nephew and threatened to kill him if he told on her. There are allegations of every nature, in lots of graphic detail. It was also kinda neat to read the depositions where the attorneys start getting catty and sarcastic with each other, lol!

There are definitely some good things about working there, and of course there is the negative. I am just going to keep plugging along and hope that things change at some point, relieving me from working so closely with Kelly.

*whew* Thanks for letting me rant. I wish I could post a little every day instead of saving it to this extent.

So, does anyone have a good site they can recommend for posting and sharing pictures? I was using Ringo (with family and local friends) but it is closing down. I'm pretty upset by it, as it was a great way to keep in touch with people that I don't normally talk to regularly. I was thinking of trying Flickr...does anyone have any thoughts on that?

The Perfect Shoes!!

Is it just me or is RTVW down again? *head tilt*

~I have had a crazy busy weekend. It started on Thursday night when I went to my mom's to get my kids at the same time that my ex-sister in law was there to get hers. Somehow Sex and the City came up and she decided she should take me to see it right then. I protested in all sorts of ways (it was almost too late as the movie was about to start; I was still in my work clothes; I had no money on me; hadn't eaten dinner; etc.). She would not take no for an answer so off we went. She is the one that was married to my brother for over ten years; his first wife. I have to admit, I expected to hate the movie so I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that I found it entertaining.

~On Friday night I went to see my RLBFF. We had dinner and then hit the mall. In Hot Topic (a teenagers dream store) I found these shoes: (taken at a friend's house with camera phone)

At first the lady said they were $39.99. They also didn't carry half sizes, so I was thinking they wouldn't work as they'd be either too big or too small. When I had her bring out the other size she mentioned that they were on sale for $15.99! I decided to get them too big (just slightly) and I'd make them work. I added those pads at the heel of the shoe and they fit fine. They are *very* comfortable. I've been wanting some closed toe black heels for a while now, so I was thrilled. Yay me! We discussed our upcoming girl's weekend and we decided we want to do the same river rafting that Puffy and Mr. Puffy did. We also talked about getting (semi) matching tattoos. :)

~ On Saturday night I went to my friend Ashley's house. Her husband cooked and they had another couple over. It was a good time. I had a margarita which was the first alcohol I've had in a long time. She gave me a pair of purple heels that I need to show you. I'll get a pic in the sunlight so you can see the color. I love them! Double yay me!!

So today was all about family, as most Sundays are. I almost fell asleep in church a couple times. I'm beyond tired. I didn't want to leave my blog un-updated though.

Hope you all had a good weekend! *smooches*

Random tiny updates

There's just too much to cover, so I'll do a list. *waves to Boo*

1. We went to a formal wear party this weekend in a barn in my grandfather's meadow. Country meets City. It was pretty cool. My cousin Kelsey was graduating and she looked like Cinderella. I added a pic of her and I in my slideshow. There's another picture from that night of my kids in the slideshow also.

2. Kelly called in sick today so I was on my own. It was stressful but it went ok. I'm having such a hard time with her right now. I want to like her. I think part of my struggle is that I feel like she doesn't like *me*. She's very negative and talks bad about everyone else, so why should *I* be different, kwim?

3. My boss had me go into his office to learn to do a Proof of Service and there was a spider on his wall that was hideously huge. I screamed and he started laughing at me. His wife, in the next office could hear everything and made me keep talking to her while the boss went to get a ladder (to get it down). She knew I was freaking out and was trying to keep me distracted. My boss made a joke about "showing it to me" after he grabbed it in a paper towel and I told him he'd get my two weeks notice in all of 10 seconds if he did, lol.

4. My grandparents house has been sitting empty on the farm for a couple years now. It's starting to look abandoned and overgrown. It was very sad to see.

5. My daughter found a dog collar on the sidewalk recently. It looked nice and the brand on it said B.B. Simon. We looked it up and it was a $100 collar! We called the number and the lady was thrilled to be getting it back. When DD went to the door, they gave her a trick or treat bag that had Honey Roasted almonds and a $5 bill. Pretty sweet (and random!).

6. Do you say All-mond, or Am-and?

7. So is everyone going to go hands-free in July? I think I'll hate having the blue-tooth on my ear, too. I'm dreading it. I might not even do it. But I also hate breaking the law....

8. I want to start walking every day after work because I want to take my kids on a pretty big hike in August. I have to decide between going to the Quincy "Q" or to the Lighthouse that's on the mountain behind my grandparents house. Both are pretty hard, with the Q being a shorter and steeper hike. I did both (often) as a child/teenager.

9. I miss playing with you guys everyday. :(

10. Should I blow my whole next paycheck on a new cell phone so I'll have internet? :D
