Sex in a Model Home?
Any thoughts on it? Have you ever done it? Would you consider it?
Bonus hypothetical question (completely unrelated to first topic)
Is there a law against duct taping a child's mouth shut? I mean, if the child agreed, and thought it would be fun, and the added benefit was that you wouldn't have to listen to the obnoxious 11 year old boy's mouth going constantly, would it be ok? Hypothetically, I mean.

Short update
Well, I did my weekend thing with my friend. :) I gained forty pounds. Not kidding, we ate until we were *stuffed*! We ate too much, drank a bottle of rum, laughed, watched movies, went shopping, played online, slept in, read magazines ...we just had a blast. We decided to do it every six months. The room we stayed in was awesome. It had a kitchen, a huge bathroom (where we took a bubble bath together) and even had the coolest alarm clock ever. It had a light thing that shot the time onto the ceiling, so during the night, you could just glance up, instead of looking at the clock. Very neat! Anyways, I'm still busy working on some projects, but I'll be around, keeping an eye on everyone. *squinty eyes*
p.s. just kidding about the bubble bath. We are good friends and all, but...heh.

This weekend...
Next week, I have a lot going on, and probably won't be around the blogs much. I'll check back in when things are looking better, here.
Have fun while I'm gone, guys!

In the news

Two things that caught my eye recently, is the discovery of a walking shark (pictured). It is my absolute worst nightmare! lol!
As a cryptozoology enthusiast, I was particularly intrigued because it just goes to show, new discoveries are *always* being made. Just wait. Bigfoot and Nessie will be along shortly. ;-)
Another interesting article was about the first ever penis transplant (not pictured). "The patient finally decided to give up the treatment because of the wife's psychological rejection, as well as the swollen shape of the transplanted penis".
Hmm. So if these were to become commonplace, how many men would go on the donor list, do you think? And could you get used to the idea of having someone else's appendage (umm, on you or *ahem* in you)?

In the closet
So, can you share?....
1. Do you have a walk-in closet?
2. Do you keep a dresser in the closet, or just hanging clothes?
3. How many pairs of jeans do you own?
4. How many pairs of shoes?
5. Do you keep winter and summer clothes all together, or separated?
6. Do you share clothes with you SO?
7. Would you ever buy secondhand clothes?
8. Do you keep more than one size, or get rid of clothes as needed?

Fun stuff :)
First, here are the directions; (Good luck, this sucker is hard!)
Click on link, then click on blue circle. Use the rules below.
"Everybody has to cross the river".
The following rules apply:
Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
The father can not stay with any of the daughters without their mother's presence
The mother can not stay with any of the sons without their father's presence
The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there
Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft
To start click on the big blue circle on the right.
To move the people click on them. To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river.
(what's so funny, is that I was able to do this thing twice, but on the third try, couldn't do it again. It's hard!)
Link to IQ test
Now, here's the link that should make you LYAO, if you've ever worked in an office enviroment like this...
My Cubicle
P.S. Who watched Dancing with the Stars, tonight? So far, I was impressed with Emmitt Smith (that was him, right?) and Willa Ford. Need to finish it later (had to TiVo it). Can't wait to see Mario!
Also, for those who watched the BB finale *waves to Nutz* :P
did you think it was mean to humiliate Erika like that, or did you think she had it coming? I sure wasn't rooting for Boogie, but man, after hearing Erika imply that *she* was the real puppetmaster, I was happy to see her lose. :)

Bad News Blog *sigh*
I don't know if I mentioned it here before, but on the Sunday before Labor day, there was a motorcycle / truck accident on the major cross-street, near my neighborhood. DH was taking the kids over to my parent's house, and they passed the scene, before any help had arrived. The kids saw the cyclist, on the ground, with blood all over his head. They were quite disturbed by what they saw. I assumed that the man had lived, based on the fact that there was no make-shift memorial set up. That Tuesday, DD found out that the man was the father of one of her friends at school. He had survived the accident, and they were asked to draw pictures for him,while he was in the hospital. Today, she came from home school and told me that it was announced he died yesterday. I am just heartbroken for the little girl, and her mother. I have no idea if there is anything I can do. *sigh*
Um, so some good news? I made a yummy dinner tonight. My DH and kids are going to a baseball game on Thursday. :) Thursday will be a good day. I can feel it. *grin*
Does anyone have anything good to share here, to brighten up my sullen blog?
Myspace.com
The account has been inactive since June sometime, when the last comment was left for her. It doesn't look like she still visits the sight, but her pics are still up, and now I am left wondering how to proceed. Her mother (my cousin) and I, have had a *very* tumultuous relationship, and I don't even have her contact info. My other cousin (the mother's sister) and I are closer, and I am thinking of calling her to make sure someone knows about this. Is that what I should do? My only concern is that my cousin (13 year olds mother) would resent me very much for being the one to bring this to her attention. I have reason to believe that she may even already know about this account, since it was after SHE mentioned it to my brother (in passing) and he looked it up online himself. But if she knew, would she leave pics of her DD on the internet?? He wasn't sure when she mentioned it, if it was something she was aware of, or something that was more of a concern (hypothetically). Anyways, what do I do?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, because it's 9/11, I wanted to do (or say) something, in memory of that day, and those whose lives were taken. It's been fairly easy, being here on the west coast, to "move on" and distance my reality from that time. It has been good, though very hard emotionally, to be reminded of it. The thread on OT has a link to a 911 phone call, and even though it was prefaced with a warning, I thought I could listen to it. Be warned, it is VERY disturbing. I had an emotional and physical reaction to it, and it left me upset for quite a while. I am glad. I needed to be reminded. Some people live with the reminder every. single. day., and I can't imagine how difficult that must be. I was fortunate enough to not have been "personally" affected, by losing friends or family, but as a human, how can I not be affected? Anyways, my thoughts and heart are with all who were lost, all who were touched personally, and every other American who felt the effects of that day.
Friday already?
Last night, I went to a friends house for dinner. I brought Panera soup for the two of us. It was alright, but her two kids were quite the handful. I don't like being hit by a three year old, and then patted on my boobs as he observes that I have some. His mom said he's obsessed with them lately, lol.
We went through some old photos of hers, from back when we were teenagers. It was fun to reminisce. :) One thing that caught me off guard though, was that she had some photos of herself, in a bra and panties, that she had her cousin (female) take of her, when she was around 13 - 14 years old. Is that normal? *boggle* I was there pretty late, and by the time I got home, I was spent.
Oh, here's one last thought. What is with certain expressions? What do they mean? They annoy the hell out of me, though I use them too, lol.
It is what it is. ? (what is it?)
At the end of the day? (gotta love Dr. Will)
Another I hate,
Hang in there. (as opposed to what?)
If I can do it, you can do it. (so not true, usually)
Which title?
"Why I said Fuck"?
"Why my DH is a moron"?
OR,
"Why my cat must die"?
It doesn't really matter which title, because the facts remain the same. I am awake (barely) sitting at the computer desk, which is right next to the living room windows. I have already opened the blinds. It's quiet, and peaceful. *smiling* Oh Wait! Not so!! There is a noise right next next to me, near the window. I glance over, and whatever the fuck it is, has not only made a pretty big plopping noise, it is now hanging onto one of the blinds (two inch wood kind). I can see flesh colored legs. I am thinking "camel spider". It's got to be effing huge, from the noise it made when it fell. The legs are giant. Nevermind that it has toes on the legs, or that camel spiders don't live here in California, irrational fears don't stop and evaluate the facts, very often, at least not for me. So, without having seen the body yet, I yell, "fuck!" and back away from the desk. As I do so, the freaking huge TREE FROG starts climbing the window. How the hell did a tree frog get in here?? I call DH, and calmly *smirk* tell him what's going on. At first, he sounds all surprised. "Really? A frog??" Then he says, "I wonder if it's the same one ..." I interupt him and say "yes! If you know anything about a frog being in the house, it's the same one". (since I've never seen one in the house before today) He says, "Ohhh, I'm sorry, I took it away from the cat and put it in the trash can". *insert me making an "are you completely insane, face, here*
So yeah, what's a frog going to do, you think, when sitting in a trash can? It's going to climb out and scare the living shit out of your wife, dumbass! *rolls eyes*
So, I slide open the screenless window, and wait for the frog to crawl out. Poor thing was out pretty quick. He was lucky to be alive really. I have sympathy for frogs, because I know they're harmless. I hate seeing one get killed. I must say though, that even with all the sympathy in the world, I still can't stand to touch one, or be near it. I would not have been able to pick it up this morning, had it been on the floor, or anywhere else. We were both lucky it was already on the window. *deep sigh* Now, my shoulders are tense, and frankly, I almost threw up afterwards. Ick. For a tree frog, it was huge.
Almost forgot to add, DH said when he was getting it from the cat, the frog must have peed in the cats mouth, because the cat started smacking it's mouth, making a funny face. LOL! Serves him right!
I was all prepared...
Don't get me wrong, I really, really like Janelle. I don't care if she is super smart or not, she is a great competitor. That in itself is reason enough for me to root for her (although she's gotten pretty fat and as slutty as she is...I mean did you SEE the hickey? *rolls eyes*). Anyhow, I was hoping for a Janelle / Will final two, thinking they would both be deserving of the money. Now, the idea of a Boogie / Erica final 2 makes me ill. I am not an Erica fan at all. I am impressed that she got it together in the end, but the rest of her game play this season has been worthless, to me.
Tonight, as Will was about to be evicted, my DD came to me and sat on my lap. We put our heads together and did some *serious* bonding, and commiserating together. *sigh* DH looked at us like we were insane. LOL. *sad sigh* Damnit. I'll miss Will. :(
My weekend update
- Tonight, my older brother shaved his arms. I have no idea why. He is extremely defensive about his action. He does not really have a good excuse, but said his tatoo artist (he only has one unfinished tat on his upper left bicep) shaves his arms, and he thought it looked cool. He was trying to convince me (or ask me, maybe?) that this was normal. I told him I would ask my blog friends. :) So, do any men YOU know, shave the hair from their arms?
- Last night, we rented two of the Indiana Jones movies to watch with the kids. It's so cool to finally be able watch things with them now that they are older. I still need to make them sit down and watch the original Star Wars, too. :)
- Steve Irwin died! How sad! Were you a fan of his show? I feel awful for his wife and children, but I also wonder how shocking it really is, given his profession. *sigh* So sad.
- Oh, one last thing. My son pulled an eyelash out today, and it was a big one. He was acting weird, and I realized it was because he thought you could actually tell where he pulled it out from. I pretended I could totally see the big open space on his eyelid. He started panicking to the point of almost crying (we were in church, BTW, so he couldn't just go look in a mirror). He was begging me for my compact to check. I told him to quit whispering at me, and to wait until afterwards. I would then wait a few minutes, and then ask him things like "can you see better now?" and "are you feeling ok? Nothing hurts?" which further freaked him out. In a very nice coincidence, another eyelash must have fallen out, and was on his cheek. I took it off and showed him, then made a comment about how "when you take a big one out, the smaller ones have nothing anchoring them anymore". It was perfect! He was panicked, convinced he was going to lose all his eyelashes! LOL! Um, so does this make me a bad mother, or just a bad Christian, for goofing off during church? *grin*
- Also, I thought I'd add a couple more questions from the book I have.
Why do you shiver after you pee?
Why does my butt itch so much?
Why do we have pubic hair?
I just thought these ones were particularly funny, and wanted to share them.
So, what did you all do this weekend? Any special Labor Day celebrations?
You get to choose...
Be prepared, number two is freakishly long, and not extremely entertaining, but I wanted to get it all down, because it was fun to reminisce about.
Blog entry number one: My Valentine *waves to Jen*
Where do I start? I believe it was the winter of 2005. It was a cold, and lonely afternoon, when I first realized we had something special. Though I had seen her around OT, I was always a little too shy to approach her. Then, as fate would have it, one night she was in the bar, just sitting there. Her eyes were glazed over, and her speach was slurred...*swoony sigh* and we started to talk. Really talk. I mean, we even talked about reality TV. Who does that? Who meets one night in a bar, and then finds themselves in a deep conversation about television? It meant something to me. I think it did to her, too. So later, on that winter day, we were blogging (yes, we had progressed to blogging together) and somehow, it came up that we each needed a Valentine. It took all my courage to ask her. It took her less than a second to decide. Yeah. We were meant to be. I just love my Valentine. Today, all this time later, and we are still going strong. We've met, kissed, and then today, she even helped me downoad some pictures onto blogger for me. *smile* I'm keeping my Valentine. I lvoe her!
Blog entry number two: My birth story *waves to Zombs*
Well, when I was 5 months pregnant, my parents found out I was expecting. I have no idea how I hid it so well. Well, yes, I do. Big boobs! LOL. Anyhow, at 6 months along, I went in for an ultrasound, (my first Dr. appt) and the technician told my mother to sit down. She then pointed to the screen and said, "see this? That's baby number one..."
After the out of body experience I had right then, I noticed my mother was being unbelievably calm. I guess she felt she had to be, so that somebody was! I have almost no memory of it, but they said I started crying, grabbed my breasts and was saying "I can't breastfeed TWO!".
Anyways, I had wanted to be surprised as to the sex of the baby, but after that surprise, I decided that was enough. She told me I was having a boy, first, and I was on pins and needles waiting for news on the other one. I wanted a girl so bad! Eventually, she confirmed I was having one of each. I was pretty happy with that.
Eventually we learned that I would need a c-section, since the babies were breech and transverse. The Doctor wanted to schedule it for August 9th, and I begged him to reconsider. For some reason, it was unacceptable to me, to have their birthday be on that date. I am not saying it's rational, but it's how I felt. He agreed to change his schedule and come in on the 10th, for me.
August 10th comes and well, when it's a surgery like this, there are not many surprises. It was over pretty quickly, really. Couple interesting sidenotes;
One, the catheter caught me completely off guard, and resulted in me crying from the shock of what they'd just done to me. And? They shaved me first. Bastards.
Why did they need to shave me?? They didn't even ask. I thought that was very rude.
Second, the IV. Well, again, totally caught me off guard. It hurt really bad, as I was expecting it to be just like a regular shot. I had NO idea it was different. Didn't go over too well.
Third, the epidural sucked. I had two babies in me, and they needed me to bend all the way over. Eff that! I couldn't bend a little bit over. What were they thinking? It felt like a cold metal rod was being shoved up my spine. Not so good.
Right after the doctor performed the cesarean, he said (as if I wasn't awake) "well, at least one of them is cute". WTF? Next thing I know, somebody brings my son over to me. I noticed that he was completely perfect looking. Which meant? DD must be the ugly one. *sigh* I didn' care too much. I mean hey, it's my baby, I'll love her no matter what, right?
They wheeled me into the recovery room,where I was supposed to be comfortable for the next few hours, since that's what the epidural stuff does. Wrong. The pain came searing across my belly like nothing I had ever before, nor since, felt. It felt like fire was slicing a line in my abdomen. Unbelievable. I couldn't focus, and was trying to convey to the nurse that I was not ok. But, according to my chart, I was fine. *eye roll* "Nope, you should be fine for a while, honey", she says. They brought a baby to me, to nurse. I put my hand up, pushing the baby away, saying (again) that I was not ok. It was hurting so bad I thought I might die (really!). The nurse looked really confused, but finally ordered something that came in a syringe. She poked it into my thigh and the next thing I knew...*happy sigh* I was all good! In fact, I was too good! Much to my DH's dismay (then DBF) I couldn't remember his name. LOL.
Anyhow (almost done, hang in there) after the drug prevented me from certain death, I was ready to see the ugly little baby girl. I was bracing myself when they brought her over. I was watching everyone else's reaction to her, trying to read their faces, but they were only smiling. When I saw her, I was shocked. She was perfect. Beautiful! Like a little pixie doll, everyone said. Pixie dolls were before my time, but it sounded cute. lol!
I realized then, that the doctor actually meant that my SON was the unattractive one. And in hindsight, ok, he was a little odd looking. Like an alien, I guess. Huge eyes, big mouth, big nose, all on a tiny 5lb 9oz body. (DD was 5lbs 15oz)
Both babies were healthy, didn't need oxygen or anything. It was a relief. I was ok, and sent home after two days. It was amazing to me how you lose all sense of privacy, and pride even, when in the hospital. People come in and tell you to spread your legs, and you do it. I dunno. Not so unusual I guess. LOL. I had to take a shower, and they expected the babies' daddy to help me, and I freaked out. Are you kidding me? I had just had two babies and they thought I would let him see me naked? I might have lost some pride but um, no thanks! My mom helped me. I went home and started breastfeeding. Such was my life for the next 5-9 months. They both quit after that, much to my dismay, actually. I loved breastfeeding! (DS quit at 5 months, and DD at 9 months, after I left town overnight)
I guess that is pretty much my baby story. Thanks for reading! It was fun to share. :)
I had the kids at 37 weeks, if I remember correctly. Please keep in mind that I was highly anemic, and look terrible. I'm surprised I'm even sharing these, lol!
This was me, and my new life, when I got home. I was a feeding machine! Looks like I have hairy boobs, huh?
Just love this picture. They were pretty new here, and very skinny looking.
Here, they were ten days old. We went to a wedding.
Questions (of the smutty variety)
Okay, so it's been too long since we've had a good overshare, so I figured it's time to make up for that. *grin*
1. Orgasms. Good or bad? Just kidding, we all know the answer to that one. How many, though? One per session?
2. Personal time. How often? Does your sex life play a role in the need to "take care" of yourself?
3. Snuggling beforehand. Yes or no?
4. Snuggling after. Yes or no?
5. Make up sex. Worth the fight?
Bonus question
6. If your child comes into the bedroom during the act, do you A) continue, B) ask the child to leave, or C) have a family hug? *smile* *waves to Boo*
Peep Meet With Pics
Catt and Dingus were very... *thinking* real. They had a natural air to them, that made me feel very comfortable. I felt like I'd known Catt forever, and it was very pleasant getting to know her better, in person. Dingus was just as funny in person, no, make that funnier, in person, than he is, online.
Catt, next time you come up this way, I'd love to do it again! Thank you guys, for waiting around for me, and making it memorable.
Answers...
So, here are the answers...
1. Do animals masturbate?
As most of you guessed, YES, they do. Interestingly, (according to Professor so-and-so, from whats-that-place, head of the Neurobiology something or other) many male animals touch and lick themselves to achieve an erection, but only primates masturbate to the point of ejaculation. I know, we all needed to know this, right? Female mammals also masturbate, and some primates have been observed perfecting the art of using a stick.
*sidenote* The blue whale has a penis that is 11 feet long. */sidenote*
2. Is it true that you cannot die in a dream?
Short answer: NO. Long answer: Maybe. Distress during dreams can cause an elevated heart rate, which for people with heart conditions, can be fatal. 20 percent of heart attacks, and 15 percent of sudden cardiac deaths, happen between Midnight and 6am. Interesting. However, rest assured,(heh) wet dreams are far more common than death dreams, so enjoy your sleep.
3. Can squirting breast milk in a baby's eye help a clogged tear duct?
I'm thinking we can all just go with Coco's answer, but I'll check the book...OK, so basically, it says to see a Pediatrician. It mentions the massaging (good job, Coco!) and wiping the discharge from the duct. It does say that because breast milk has antimicobial components, you *can* put some on your finger and gently place it in the corner of the draining eye. Ick.
4. Why do older people fart more than younger people? *looks at carey*
One theory is that old people just don't care as much, and let the flatulence fly without any regard for where he is. Loss of muscle tone also occurs, often causing the person to lose some control of when and where it happens.
As much as it pains me, I'll share some euphanisms that the book authors thought were amusing;
Cutting the cheese (duh)
Sneezing in one's pants
Floating an air biscuit (huh?)
Doody burping
Killing the canary (another, huh?)
Sphincter whistling
Colin bowlin'
The scented scream (ok,this one made me lol)
5. Why do your eyes water when you poop? <--WTF!?
The theory is, it's the same as when you yawn. While pooping or yawning, you scrunch up the muscles in your face, and the contraction of the muscles can force the tear ducts and glands to be compressed, forcing out tears.
Ok, enough about pooping and farting. *makes disgusted face*
6. Why don't you get goosebumps on your face?
Kim guessed right. It has something to do with where we generally have more hair (hence the goosebumps being on the arms and legs). There was more on this subject, but I'm too tired to get into it. If you really want more details on this one, ask, but otherwise, I'm satisifed with the answer. :)
have you ever wondered...?
That *points up* is the title of the new book I bought. It has some very odd and some very funny questions in it. I thought I'd post a couple questions here and see what answers you can come up with (without cheating!). I'll come back and post the answers that the book gives, later. Don't have to answer them all, but try to do one or two at least, just for fun. :)
Informal Poll
My DH and I were the oldest ones in the theater for the second movie. For Material Girls I took DD and a friend of hers, and her friend's mom came also. It was fun, but the movie was just ok, with a plot that's been done to death. Anyhow, other than that, I didn't even leave the house much, and just did almost nothing. It finally hit me tonight that I have only one week until the kids are back in school, and I still have lots of school shopping to do. Ack! On to the Poll...
Because I have to start what I call my Nazi Diet today (or tomorrow, depending where DBF and I go for dinner tonight), food has been on my mind. I started wondering about you all, and had a few questions, just because I am curious.
- First, do you drink regular or diet soda?
- How much water do you drink, daily?
- Is your weakness sweets, carbohydrates, or something else?
- While watching your weight, do you consume alcohol? *waves to Catt and Carey* ;-)
- Have you actually ever wondered how many calories are in certain bodily fluids? (because I've read that question being asked before, and it really shocked me!)
*sigh* I have to go on a field trip with one of my kids at the end of the schoolyear, to Headlands (which is somewhere near Carey, I think?) and one thing they do is a pretty big hike, from what I hear. I need to be in much better shape before then, so as not to embarrass myself (or the kids, lol) Wish me luck!
*let the cravings begin...*
