Please excuse the filthy mirror in which I took the picture. These are very much like my last ebay shoes, but they are patent leather, so it's not like I got duplicates, right? And, they are not as high as my other shoes, so they will be comfortable! *yay*
My DD went to bed with a big smile tonight because we have started redecorating her room (after two days of cleaning it). She is thrilled with her new colors and we even found the perfect comforter at Ross tonight for $16.99! We hung paper lanterns from her ceiling too. *grin* She's in love with her room and it makes me happy. :) Next up; DS's jungle room. Getting him to part with his toys is hard, even as he grows older because he is so sentimental. Basically, if he remembers who it came from, he can't let it go. Silly boy.
How about you? Have many (or any) childhood / sentimental items saved that you will never part with? What do you save of your children's (if applicable)? I save a lot of school work and some baby clothes. The rest they keep in their rooms, like stuffed animals and stuff.
Well, after Thursday, I won't be around at all until probably Monday. I'm taking the kids to the lake and then we'll be scrambling to be ready for school on Monday morning. Everyone have a great weekend!

I will come back and answer later. I had to come home to get Conner and to get myself really ready. I was at the office at 6 a.m. this morning setting up for a class. And now I'm just waiting for Handy Manny to end.
I unfortuantely am not sentimental at all. I did not save anything. I had a relatively happy childhood but I don't like thinking about it. Weird right?
I do like to look at old pictures though.
DH yells at me cause I throw out all his cards from him right after I read them. He keep severything like our first movie ticket stub, etc.
My kids stuff I save and will put them in their baby books. One day but I do throw out a lot of their art work after awhile. I keep the good stuff.

I have nothing from my childhood except for my baby hospital bracelet. I do have many birthday cards that my mom saved for me. I'm extremely sentimental and save all b'day, xmas cards. I also saved all the boys' toys that we kept at our house and keep them in a large plastic storage box. They may enjoy looking at them when they get older. We also saved all their school artwork. I also keep all ticket stubs of any event I go to as well as all souvenir booklets from places I've been. One day I'll stick them in a scrapbook. I can't let anything go.

Very cool on the room redectorating! I loved to change my room around, even thought it never involved paint. Sometimes I'd get a new bedspread. Usually, it just involved mooving furniture around and putting up new things on the wall. Kids have much hipper parents to do redecorating these days.
I have a few childhood momentos at my dad's house such as my baby blanket and tooth fairy pillow. Otherwise, I think I've only kept yearbooks, my "School Daze" memory book and a few trinkets my parents brought me from vacations.
Oh, and Chris and I put our cards in the bathroom. *giggle* We have a wall of cards that stick between the sink and mirror. I just took them down, as it was getting crowded, and put them in a box. Guess it's time to start repopulating the wall.
It's nice to read the front of the cards every day.

I'm kinda sentimental. I would throw out most stuff but save a few precious items, like cards that are particularly personal and meaningful, letters, mementos.
From my childhood, I have a few artifacts. There's a "sun" I made out of clay, and my bowling and baseball trophies I *EARNED* as a kid (for actual outstanding achievement - there were only two).
And of course, my Woobie! :-)

It's funny because sometimes I think the less we have from our childhood, the more special it becomes, so it must be a balance. I bet you treasure that little bracelet.
Kim, when I redecorate, I go all out. Paint, wallpaper, whatever. DD's room is currently perriwinkle with a very pretty floral border that I put up years ago. Now we're talking about new paint and no more paper (hard to remove). We also rearranged her furniture which gave her tons more room.

The only really silly thing that I had saved from my childhood was this ugly golden looking spoon. I have held onto it since the day I moved out at the age of 18. Michelle always hated it and said it was ugly. Which it was. The spoon is missing and I yell at Michelle all of the time about that. She swears she did not throw it out but I'm not sure that I believe her. Wah!!
Bravie, that is so weird! When I got back from my trip last October, there was this ugly spoon in my bag, so I threw it away.

Redecorating is so much fun. I still need to get a new lamp for Conner's room, and I need to make a decision about what to do with the wall. I know that as soon as I decide on one thing, I will change my mind.
I don't really have anything from my early childhood days. I do have a mini photo album that has the only pictures I have of my father, whom I don't know. All of the other pictures that had my father in them were altered to remove him. The album also has pictures of his parents - the grandparents I never knew. Something that makes me very sad about this album is that the occasion looks to be some sort of anniversary party for the grandparents. This may have just become the topic of another blog post.
I have a couple of boxes of stuff that was Conner's from his baby years. There are a few clothing items I do not want to part with, etc. I also have a lot of his artwork from school that I have saved and will continue to save.
Last night we were sitting together doing his nebulizer, and he had his bear in his lap. We were talking to Bear and giving him hugs and kisses. I know that Bear will be one thing that we never part with. I have a feeling Dora and Blue will be too. Dora, Blue and Bear are best of friends. They hang out together all day and sleep together at night. It would be wrong to get rid of one of them.
However did you take a picture of your own calves & feet from such a low angle? Oh. Ha. I figured it out as I was writing the sentence. I always use the viewfinder so I forget about the on-screen thing.
My grandson is getting his room redone to be a jungle room! All I know (I haven't seen it) is that it is daylight in the jungle on one side of the room and then night in the jungle on the side where his bed is. That way he can put a few of the glow-in-the-dark stars he is enormously fond of over his bed. And his room has a water feature. I think you should put a water feature into your son's room - very jungly.
I have very few things from my childhood because my mom wasn't a saver and the few things she did try to save in the attic were ravaged, raped and destroyed by my older brother's kids. I have 2 small bone china horses that I won at a carnival when I was 8, and 1 china horse that I bought when I was about 12. The rest of my huge collection was broken. I have my HS yearbooks. I do have lots of photos though, and I treasure them.
As a result of not having mementos of my childhod I save stuff like Nookie. Boxes and boxes of stuff! *waves to Nookie*

Chris is very sentimental about his childhood. His bunny dish and plate are two of my favorites. :-)
I have a Quik Bunny Mug (his ears are the handles) from my childhood. Grandma saved UPC codes and sent away for it for me. I remember the day I got it in the mail. I had the bestest grandma.
