And really, I feel stupid for letting it bother me. *sigh*
Remember my friend Jenn? The one I was going to cut back on because she is so high maintenance? Well, she had a party on Saturday night and I'm feeling crummy because I know she didn't want me to go. The silly thing is that I wouldn't have gone anyways, but still.
She originally sent out evites, which I received. Then the evite was cancelled and when I spoke to her she said the party was still on, but something was wrong with the invitation so she pulled it. Later, she made a point of telling me not to feel *any* pressure to come to the party because, as she put it, "it's not your kind of party, ...you know, drinking, dancing, making out". Well, the making out part was a joke, because I knew there wouldn't be any, but the other parts were true. If she were normal, I would take this at face value but part of my previous problem with her was the fact that she put unrealistic expectations on me, as a friend. When she had other parties, not only was I hounded to death about them but she also let me know she'd take it personally if I couldn't go. *rolls eyes*
This last week we were on the phone Monday - Thursday due to a problem she was involved with (regarding my soon-to-be ex-SIL), and I noticed later that she never mentioned the party to me once. I found out later she emailed my brother, reminding him about the party (he didn't go either). Then, when I was looking at her pics of the party (she posts them online) I noticed she called not only my brother during the party, begging him to come, but also his best friend (and my friend too) Clint. Hmm. But no call to me. No reminders, no calls, nothing. And of course the fact that she pretty much told me not to come herself, in the beginning.
So, what am I to make of this? At first, I was fine with it, if not a bit confused, but after seeing the pictures and all the people who were there, I started to feel hurt. Am I THAT boring? Would I have killed the party? Am I a funsuck? Why did she beg my brother and Clint, but not me at all? Now I'm wondering whether to tell her how I feel, or to just not care. Maybe this is my perfect timing for a way out of her life (the way I've been wanting anyways). *sigh*
I feel crummy. What are your guesses? Why am I no fun to have at a huge dance party?

I think it's perfect timing for a way out of her life. You seem to spend way too much time and energy on her and get little in return. Do you really have that much time, energy, and stress to spare?
You said funsuck. *giggle*
I bet she didn't want you there because the boys give you more attention than her.
She sounds like a funsuck on your life. I agree with MTW.
I agree with MTW. And? The next couple of times she calls, let her leave a message - don't answer live.
*sits with everyone else*
Because she is starting to realise that she can't boss you around anymore and you don't jump when she says jump and she is an insecure little bitch so can't handle it.
I also bet that she is hoping you will now "behave" to get back in her good books.
Don't.
Let the stupid woman stew in her own immaturity.
(I really don't like this woman, BTW. This is the one who made the sacry stalker phone calls and blamed it on a mutual guy friend of yours, right?)
FWIW, I would totally invite you to a party. And I agree with everyone else.
BTW, did you know that I can barely make out your blog. I don't know if it's my browser, but it goes all screwy for me (impossible to read). I kinda stumbled on the comment button in order to post this.
:-(
Oh, and it's always been like that for me (that's why I very rarely comment or visit over here).
I say there's only room for one Jen(n) in your life and you should cut her loose. *grin*
It doesn't sound like she's a very good friend anyway, and you deserve better than that.
Miss you! *besa*
Yeah, I'm agreeing with you guys about Jenn, it's just hard. *sigh* I think she might be feeling guilty because she has been emailing me inviting me over. Ugh.
Jen, you're my only valentine, does that count? *besa*
Bob, yeah, she's the one. I never said she was sane, lol.
Meemo! Hi! Sorry about the blog. I've heard it's a problem for a few peeps. :( Eventually I'll change my format, but I need to learn how.
If you want to come to my house and dance, you can.
Awww! That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me! (well, not entirely true, but *very* nice!)
I'll come when Jen and Glow come back. *grin*
You are nice and cute and fun. And you have excellent shoes. So...whatever to her. She's the lame-o-head.
Yes! I have excellent shoes. I almost forgot about that. *giggle*
Thanks Debs. She's a lame-o-head!
I thought Meemo was saying he could never make-out IN your blog. I'm like, "Whatever, I come here just to get some action."
If only he COULD make out in my blog. That would be sweet!! But then I'd have to kick all you hos out. *grin*
*makes out with Kim*
Pfft. *kicks Kim and MTW out of blog*
*checks to see if back door to blog is open*
Hey! No back door references in this blog! :P
I think you were too good for her party. And I too agree with MTW.
*smooch*
I would like to have a party, and I would like for you to be the first one I invite.
I promise, there will be M&Ms.
*smooches* Boo! I would SO go to a Boo party. *wonders if it would be like a Bree party*
